AABIP RT Coalition Working Group Co-Leads

The RT Coalition is a collaborative initiative within the AABIP APP & Allied Health Chapter operating under the oversight of the AABIP Education Committee. The coalition is organized into focused Working Groups that support key initiatives related to Respiratory Therapists involved in Interventional Pulmonology. Each Working Group is led by volunteer Co-Leads who help coordinate collaboration, communication, and initiative development within their designated focus area.

Selected applicants will serve two-year volunteer terms and will work collaboratively with RT Coalition leaders and participants, APP & Allied Health Chapter, and the Education Committee to support coalition initiatives and goals.


Activity: AABIP RT Coalition Working Group Co-Leads 

Term: Two (2) Years


Working Groups

IPRT NBRC & Certification Process Working Group
The selected applicant will work collaboratively with the other co-leads as a dyad to organize the working group members to achieve the goals of the “IPRT NBRC & Certification Process” working group.

Responsibilities include:
  • Lead the working group in an organized fashion to achieve the goals of the RT Coalition.
  • Work collaboratively with the other co-leads, ambassadors and liaisons within the RT Coalition.
  • Update the RT Coalition at regular intervals at the RT Coalition meetings.

RT Coalition Education Working Group
The selected applicant will work collaboratively with the other co-leads as a dyad to organize the working group members to achieve the goals of the RT Coalition Education Working Group.
  • Lead the working group in an organized fashion to achieve the goals of the RT Coalition.
  • Work collaboratively with the other co-leads, ambassadors and liaisons within the RT Coalition.
  • Update the RT Coalition at regular intervals at the RT Coalition meetings.

Defining Roles of RTs in IP Working Group
The selected applicant will work collaboratively with the other co-leads as a dyad to organize the workgroup members to achieve the goals of the “Defining Roles of RTs in IP” working group.
  • Lead the working group in an organized fashion to achieve the goals of the RT Coalition.
  • Work collaboratively with the other co-leads, ambassadors and liaisons within the RT Coalition.
  • Update the RT Coalition at regular intervals at the RT Coalition meetings.

RT Empowerment Working Group
The selected applicant will work collaboratively with the other co-leads as a dyad to organize the working group members to achieve the goals of the Empowerment working group.
  • Lead the working group in an organized fashion to achieve the goals of the RT Coalition.
  • Work collaboratively with the other co-leads, ambassadors and liaisons within the RT Coalition.
  • Update the RT Coalition at regular intervals at the RT Coalition meetings.

RT Coalition Compensation Working Group
The selected applicant will work collaboratively with the other co-leads as a dyad to organize the working group members to achieve the goals of the Compensation working group.
  • Lead the working group in an organized fashion to achieve the goals of the RT Coalition.
  • Work collaboratively with the other co-leads, ambassadors and liaisons within the RT Coalition.
  • Update the RT Coalition at regular intervals at the RT Coalition meetings.

Criteria for Selection
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Interest in leadership among respiratory therapy peers.
  • Be an AABIP Member in good standing
  • Able to make a commitment to regular monthly meetings, and additional meetings as needed.
