The AABIP Interventional Pulmonology Essentials: A Virtual Course for APPs & Allied Health provides clinically focused education for advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and allied health professionals involved in interventional pulmonology and complex pulmonary care. Physicians and other members of the pulmonary care team are also welcome to participate.

Through expert-led presentations, the program reviews key topics including COPD management, pleural effusions, tracheostomy care, and excessive dynamic airway collapse/tracheobronchomalacia. This virtual course is designed to strengthen clinical knowledge and support the multidisciplinary teams that care for patients with advanced pulmonary disease.

Educational Topics
  • COPD: Current management and interventional pulmonary therapies
  • Pleural Effusions: Evaluation, fluid studies, and management strategies
  • Tracheostomy: Indications, complications, and daily management
  • Excessive Dynamic Airway Collapse (EDAC) and Tracheobronchomalacia (TBM): Diagnosis and treatment approaches

Continuing Education
This course is free to attend for all participants.
  • AABIP members are eligible to receive CME and CRCE at no additional cost when logged into their active AABIP account.

  • Non-members may attend for free by selecting “No Continuing Education Credit.” Non-members who wish to receive credit may add CME ($50) or CRCE ($25). If you would like to join AABIP, you may become a member here.
