AABIP IP Fellow Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) Learning Curriculum

The AABIP EBM Learning Curriculum offers IP fellows a concise, organized, and engaging learning environment to deepen their understanding of Interventional Pulmonology throughout their fellowship year.

How it works
Fellows are grouped into teams of 4 to 5 and complete monthly modules, each representing a core IP topic and consists of: 
  • Summarized landmark research studies
  • Pre-recorded faculty video lectures
  • 1-hour informal case discussion with faculty and other fellows
  • Practice questions via the iPass app
  • A graded quiz at the end of the month

Monthly and cumulative scores are tracked, and the top four teams will win prizes at the end of the academic year.

  4. Malignant Central Airway Obstruction (Non-Stent Management)
  5. Benign Central Airway Obstruction (Non-Stent Management)
  6. Airway Stents, Lung Transplant Complications, and Tracheobronchomalacia
  7. Pneumothorax, Bronchopleural Fistula, and Persistent Air Leaks
  8. Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction
  9. Hemoptysis
  10. Percutaneous Tracheostomy and T-Tubes
