Position Overview:

The AABIP Conference provides updated scientific knowledge and research, unique networking opportunities, hands-on experience and high-yield exposure to emerging, minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and technologies related to the care of patients with thoracic disease.

The subcommittee members' selection will be made by the Scientific Program Committee.  The AABIP is committed to an organizational culture of excellence, equitable representation, diversity, and inclusion.  We encourage applications from physician and non-physician members representing diverse ethnicities, ages, races, nationalities, genders, specialties, and hospital settings.


Term: 1-year


Role Description:

Content Track Subcommittee Members will work under the guidance of the Scientific Program Chair/Co-Chair and their assigned Content Track Subcommittee Chair/Co-Chair to develop the scientific content for the AABIP Annual Conference.

Members will be assigned to one of the following topic themes and will be responsible for reviewing, modifying, and ranking submitted sessions within that theme. They will ensure that session submissions are high-quality and represent a diversity of speakers, session types, and formats. Subcommittee members will meet one to two times to complete the review process.

Note: This is a voluntary service position.

  • Advanced Diagnostic Bronchoscopy
  • Airway Based Therapeutics
  • Pleural Disease
  • Medical Education
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship 
  • Miscellaneous


Position Requirements:
  • Membership: Must be a member of AABIP in good standing.
  • Eligibility: Open to all AABIP members, including junior members, current IP fellows, and non-physician members.

    • Note that members will be assigned to one subcommittee theme, and preferred theme assignment is not guaranteed.

    • Indicate if you have previously served on the subcommittee and whether you served as a member or chair.
